BREATHLESS

by: Walter Wykes (1969- )

      REATHLESS
I am breathless in your arms

      You hover over me
      a dark angel
      your wings spread
      folded round me
      moving slowly
      hovering
      hovering

I can just make out your shape
      your outline
      the curve of your breast

      I strain to see more
but you cling to the darkness
      It is your shroud
      your temple
the nothingness that binds us together

      I seek your warmth
      your dark river

      I float downstream effortlessly
I let the current take me where it will
      through your secret passageways
      your ancient caverns

      Somewhere in the darkness
      I hear your soft scream
      your muffled cry

      Breathless
I am breathless in your arms
